Apostle Stephaney L Moody Bio and Church History –
Apostle Stephaney L. Moody is the wife of Vincent L Moody, the mother of 7 children (Ka’Meka, Damaris, Robert, Melvin, Lauren, De’Angelo, and Breinne’) and 10 grandchildren. She is the Founder and Apostle of New Beginnings Discipleship Ministries (aka N.B.D.M.) in Des Moines, IA.
Apostle Moody began her journey with Christ on June 2, 2000 (which she refers to as her new birthday) after a Women’s Retreat at St Paul AME Church. On December 30, 2002, the Lord called her to ministry while she was under the tutelage of Rev. Derek E. Bastian. She joined the Ministerial Team upon being accepted as a candidate at the Illinois 4th Episcopal District Conference and served as a Licentiate for over 5 years. During that time, she worked in the areas of: New Membership, Membership Development, Women’s Ministry, Young People’s Department (YPD), Youth Ministries, Bible Study, and Executive Director of the St. Paul AME Transformation Center.
In December of 2007, God gave her the mandate to leave St Paul AME Church to begin a place that would “not just be another Church in Des Moines” but an Embassy, a Kingdom Purpose Training Center discipling the nations for Christ. In May of 2008, she and her husband founded New Beginnings Discipleship Ministries, where they are known for building CIAs for God (Christians with Integrity and Anointing). Those who are a part of N.B.D.M. not only understand their authority and identity in Christ Jesus, but also are taught how to be skillful in warfare against the kingdom of darkness in these last days. She believes that her success is not determined by how many people she can get in the seats but by how many people she can fill up with the word and get into the streets.
NBDM began in their home which was quickly outgrown. The congregation never stopped believing for a building they would own. After 3 ½ year of searching while continuing to build Disciples of All Nations, they placed an offer on a church on Broadway. She left for a trip to Israel and in days, received news that NBDM was now the proud owner of land and a building.
On December 9, 2017, Pastor Stephaney accepted her call to the office of Apostle and was commissioned by Senior Apostle Garland Scott of Kingdom Culture Fellowship International. NBDM is a part of the Antioch Network of Churches founded by Apostle Nona Parker who is also their Apostolic covering. Apostle Moody’s official responsibilities are: Reformation/Confirmation of Churches, Healing, Planting Churches, Systems Change-Giving God a voice and influence at the decision-making tables in the world, Deliverance, and Transgenerational Impartation. Other responsibilities include being the Apostolic covering for: Spirit Midwest Ministries International – Missions Team, the Bond of Unity Embassy Center and Food Pantry, Genesis Arts Ministry, Freedom Frontline Deliverance Ministry, and preaches frequently for Sistaz on Purpose which covers 5 countries including (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and USA). She is the Vice President of the Pastor’s Ministers Alliance and the administrator for HelpDsm which is an organization founded to apostolically address issues in the greater Des Moines and surrounding areas. Apostle Moody is also the owner of Christian Life Magazine, and she will also be inducted as a Chaplain for the Des Moines Police Department this fall.
